Vestal Peak (13,864') and Arrow Peak (13,803'), as seen from Kendall Mountain above Silverton

bout this image

Taken a few minutes after the previous wider picture of the same scene, this evening was one of the best I've ever experienced. Once the sun poked through causing the brilliant rainbow, the light show was nothing short of a fireworks display, and I was firing off pictures recording everything I could during these amazing sixteen minutes. In addition to what I mentioned on the previous picture, Vestal and Arrow are two of the finest peaks in the state and certainly two of my favorites. So, to come away with a picture like this with the incredible light that accentuates the subject matter, it definitely had to go in my list of favorites. I'm always a sucker for rolling green tundra, then to cap it off with that last lateral ray of light that is spotlighting the peak is as good as it gets in the high country.

In addition to Vestal and Arrow peaks, to Vestal's left are Peak 6 with Jagged Mountain poking up behind; to the right of Arrow are Windom and Sunlight peaks (two fourteeners), and Electric Peak on the far right.
