Rating: 5/10 Radical Hill is a trail off of the north side of Webster Pass. Although this trail is only 2.5 miles long, it sure packs a punch in that short distance in terms of scenery and a moderately difficult section. The tougher section is pictured below in a few images with some bigger rocks to negotiate. I traveled this road in back-to-back weeks and these rocks were wet the second time around. I slid off one and took a soft hit on my slider, wheras I went straight up the first time around. Further ahead, as you're ascending the side of the ridge, there is a nice shelf section. The final switchback on the way up has relatively deep moguls that could make things a little interesting if you have open diffs. The views from the top are excellent. There are great views of Red Cone Peak, Webster Pass, Grays and Torreys Peaks and the Glacier Ridge trail. At the western terminus there is a fork in the road where you can go left to Glacier Ridge or the Middle Fork of the Swan River, or to the right and down the Deer Creek road to Montezuma. |
