Diamond Park lies down the valley to the left

Looking up to Big Agnes (left) from camp

Zirkel from just the other side of the lake's outlet

Ascending up to lake 11,500' viewing Big Agnes

Directly above a distinct gulch that leads to an overlook above lake 11,500'

Looking southeast

Looking down to Lake 10,700', 800' below

Panorama from above lake 11,500'. Big Agnes is the peak on the far left

A closer view of the lake. I was soaking up the warm sun from this perch for quite awhile just enjoying the view all around.

Pretty emerald water

Looking southeast from my perch above the lake. I haven't quite decided yet if that is the Gore Range barely visible on the right, but that is my current thought. I'll spend more time calculating it later.

I love it up here. There's even a mini Yosemite Half Dome! I sure hope those sweet clouds stay around for sunset.

Looking over to unnamed 11,811', an amazing cool-looking piece of rock

My tent (where green arrow is pointing) as seen from my sunset spot

Enjoying another wonderful evening above camp

The view northeast

Just watching the shadow line creep up Zirkel's face

My favorite shot of the trip

Day 3

Camp

Zirkel from about a hundred feet from my tent site. The low point in left-center is the way in and out.

Just enjoying a lazy day near camp

No clouds to be seen, so this spot will do just fine right near camp

Zirkel twilight

Taking one last shot prior to supper. Venus and the moon overhead.

Day 4

Sunrise over Big Agnes. Finally get some great clouds on the last morning.

Lake outlet

Starting the haul out. It's always tough leaving such a great spot.

Looking down the hill on the opposite side

The sun finally cresting Zirkel

Hoping I can find an easier route back than what I took coming down

Through a rock cut
