Colorado photographers

Below are links are to some very talented photographers whom I have had the pleasure of meeting, and in most instances, shooting with. Every one of them has an incredible array of images, mostly from Colorado. Perhaps the best thing about them is that I consider them all great resources and outstanding friends.

BaconPhoto.com

My friend, Scott Bacon, has quite the awesome collection of images from around North America and Europe in addition to a number of travelogues you'll enjoy reading through. Scott was a tremendous resource for me when I was looking for lenses for my 4x5 camera. His knowledge of them saved me a lot of research. Thanks again, Scott!

BrentMurphyPhoto.com
Brent has a well designed site with images to match

BretEdge.com
Bret has an ever-growing collection of mountain, desert and adventure images. He is also another Toyota buddy of mine, and we will be doing a number of 4WD trail runs in the future mixing in a little photography while we're at it.

CoyoteImages.com
Dave has yet another stunning gallery on his site. He has also recently purchased his first 8x10 camera. I will be intently watching to see what he produces from that!

DoerzmanPhoto.com
Brent is another good friend of mine, and fellow 4Runner buddy, who works at Qube Visual in Denver and has processed all most of my orders I have placed there, and without flaw I might add! Known amongst our group of photographers as "Ice Man" due to his wonderful ice fracture shots he has taken. I really love Brent's approach on his site, in that he displays nice big and crisp (minimally compressed in this case) images. He has some nice trip reports as well where the pictures tell the story. He also helped me out quite a bit when I was first learning how to shoot 4x5. We routinely go on trips together and always talk about them when we're not behind a camera.

EarthtonesPhoto.com
Glen has a stunning gallery of images with sweet light. He used to work at Qube Visual in Denver, where I have all of my film processing done. The thing that really impresses me about Glen is that he only uses a 90mm lens for his 4x5 camera. As you can see on his site, he really puts that to his advantage and makes it work for him.

EarthSystemsImaging.com
Steve Weaver has another outstanding, albeit fairly small, gallery. His images of Banff and Jasper National Parks in Alberta really have me chomping at the bit to get back up there.

GodsCountryPhoto.net
My friend, Chuck Peacock, lives in the northwest Colorado town of Craig. He and I share the same viewpoint that God's creation is the inspiration for our work.

ImagesOfColorado.com
Jan France has a bunch of cool miscellaneous images on her site ranging from landscapes, wildlife to adventures. On a couple of photo outings in the past, I have taken her on Schofield, Black Bear and Imogene Pass roads (trip reports of each in my 4WD Trails section), which she couldn't stop thanking me for. You're welcome, Jan! No doubt we'll be going on future trail runs together as well.

JesseSpeer.com
My friend Jesse gets the gold medal for web design! I've never seen any better. Absolutely incredible! Jesse is one of the premier photographers in Colorado and has a countless number of excellent images, which are very much eye candy, on his sites.

JodyGrigg.com
Jody is a good friend of mine who works in the same building as I do, so we definitely spend some time on a daily basis talking about our favorite hobby and where we're going next. You'll enjoy his his incredible imagery from Colorado and the Southwest.

LeacockPhoto.com
J.C. Leacock is quite the accomplished photographer, with his images being widely published. J.C. also happens live near one of my favorite towns of Crested Butte and I usually stop by his place when I'm in the area.

NaturesFinestImages.com
Tony Litschewski has one of my favorite collection of work from those who I have had the pleasure of meeting. Incredible images, and one who shoots 8x10.

MorningLight.us
Erik Stensland is a recent transplant to Colorado and has a wonderful gallery on his site that is growing by leaps and bounds on a daily basis. Literally! Living at the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park allows him to take many quick trips to bring back more great images. If you want to see RMNP imagery, look no further than his site. He was kind enough to let me lodge at his place for a night before we took off the next morning well before sunrise for a winter group shoot. Thanks again, Erik!

RenéPirolt.com
My friend, René, has a farily limited image gallery at this point, but I'm confident he'll add a bunch more in time.

RickDunn.net
Rick has an incredible collection of images on his well designed site. He has some of my favorite stuff from White Sands National Monument, NM. Rick is one of the funniest guys around and is a pleasure having him as a friend.

RussLowgren.com
Russ went to school at Colorado State and then moved to Hawaii, where he was stationed in the Navy. He recently moved to California to start his working career after the navy, but still considers Colorado home and visits here frequently. I've been on a few photo outings with him and he has some visually stunning galleries on his site of Colorado, California and Hawaii that you will not want to miss.

TadBowman.com
Tad is a coworker of mine who works about 30 feet from me. We've taken a trip to the San Juans and Tetons a few years back and frequently talk about our favorite hobby. He has taken his photography to a whole new level in 2006 and you'll want to be sure to keep tuning back to his site.

ToddCaudle.com
Todd does this photography thing for a living. In fact, if you live in Colorado, you likely have seen some of his books or calendars in your local bookstore, many of which he has given to me for free. How cool is that?! Thanks again, Todd! He has an unbelievably vast knowledge of Colorado (WAY more than myself) and is a second-to-none resource if you ever have a question about what is where. Not a bad photographer, either!

TheIntimateLandscape.com
Chris Ebright recently transitioned over to a newly designed site with images therein worthy of a visit

Voninski.com
My good friend, Rich, lives just a few minutes away from me. His stellar collection of black and white imagery is my personal favorite. Yeah, he's pretty good at color, too!

The following are links to two of Colorado's main photographers who I have not met, but deserve a spot here:

JohnFielder.com
John is Colorado's most well known landscape photographer, pure and simple.

KathleenNorrisCook.com
Another premier Colorado photographer

Non-Colorado photographers

Jimmy Gekas
My talented friend from Encinitas, California. We've hooked up on a few occasions when he's come out to visit Colorado.

RecapturePhoto.com
My friend, Adam Schallau (Taos, New Mexico), has one of my favorite sites showcasing many great images from the southwest

DesertDogPhotography.com
My Santa Fe, New Mexico, friend, Brian VanDenzen, is the owner of this fine site. Any guy who loves the San Juan Mountains of Colorado this much is a friend of mine!

Bill Langton
I first recall corresponding with Bill (Truckee, California) on the Colorado Nature Photographers' site where he inquired about where to shoot fall color. After giving him the link to my fall drives section, we happened to meet a couple of times on our respective trips, and have corresponded a number of times since.
